Zacatecas, from 2024 to 2027

Zacatecas gave the PRI its third-best federal deputy share in the country in 2024, behind only Coahuila and Durango: 19.5% of the valid vote, enough for second place. Morena led with 34.9%, 7.5 points below its national average. Movimiento Ciudadano and the PAN finished practically tied, at 12.6% each; the Greens added 8.0% and the PT 7.4%. The PRD took 5.1%, its fourth-best result, though nationally it fell below the threshold it needed to keep its registration.

Despite that fragmentation, all four districts went to Sigamos Haciendo Historia. The closest was district 1, seated in Fresnillo, where the coalition beat Fuerza y Corazón by 3.8 points; in Jerez (2), the capital (3) and Guadalupe (4) the gaps ranged from 12.9 to 19.7 points. In all four, the PRI and PAN alliance came second; Movimiento Ciudadano, despite its 12.6%, was runner-up in none. Combined, the coalition's parties gathered 50.3% and the three in the alliance led by the PRI and PAN 37.1%. Turnout, at 60.3%, was within 0.2 points of the national figure.

Zacatecas's 2027 ballot includes the governorship, which residents abroad can also vote for, along with the 30-seat congress and 58 municipal councils. With a PRI stronger than in almost any other state and Morena below its average, it is one of seven states where second place in 2024 went to the PRI rather than the PAN or Movimiento Ciudadano.
