Tamaulipas, from 2024 to 2027
Five of Tamaulipas's eight federal districts are seated in border municipalities that observe daylight saving time: Nuevo Laredo (1), Reynosa (2 and 7), Río Bravo (3) and Matamoros (4). On June 6, 2027, those municipalities will be one hour ahead of Victoria or Tampico. In 2024 all five went to Sigamos Haciendo Historia, as did Victoria (5) and El Mante (6).
The only district the Morena-led coalition did not win was district 8, seated in Tampico, which Fuerza y Corazón carried by just 0.8 points, the seventh-narrowest margin of all 300 districts. In votes, Morena got 49.2% and the PAN 26.4%, its sixth-best share among the 32 states. The rest were spread very unevenly: Movimiento Ciudadano added 8.1% and the Greens 6.5%, and the PRI stopped at 4.9%, one of its three weakest results. The PT took 3.7% and the PRD 1.2%. Turnout (56.7%) came in 3.8 points under the country's.
The governorship is not up in 2027; the 36 seats of the state congress, 43 municipal councils and the eight federal seats are. With a PAN that in 2024 drew more than four times the votes of the PRI and PRD combined, the state shows how much the weight of each partner inside Fuerza y Corazón por México varied from one state to another.
