Durango, from 2024 to 2027

In Durango the PRI posted its second-best federal deputy result in the country in 2024: 23.9% of the valid vote, behind only Coahuila. Morena was the most-voted party, with 40.4%, and the PAN finished third with 14.0%. No other party topped Movimiento Ciudadano's 7.1%: the PT drew 6.2% and the Greens 5.9%, and the PRD, in the last election in which it held national registration, 2.5%.

With those numbers, Sigamos Haciendo Historia won three of the four districts: district 1, seated in the state capital, and those of Gómez Palacio (2) and Lerdo (3), with leads ranging from 12.5 to 19.9 points. The fourth, also based in the capital, went to the PAN-PRI-PRD alliance, by 3.6 points. Together, that alliance's parties added up to 40.4%, practically the same as Morena alone and the sixth-highest share in the country for that bloc. Turnout was 55.1%, among the five lowest of the 32 states.

On June 6, 2027, Durango will have a pared-down local election: there is no governor's race and its municipal councils were already chosen in 2025, so, besides the four federal deputies, it only renews the 25 seats of the state congress. Every race on that day's ballot will therefore be a legislative one. Federal district 4, the only one that alliance won in 2024, was also the state's narrowest contest.

What is elected

Durango does not elect municipal councils in 2027, as they were elected in 2025: locally, it only renews its congress.
