Campeche, from 2024 to 2027

Nowhere did Movimiento Ciudadano do better in the 2024 federal deputy race than in Campeche. Running without allies, it won 32.7% of the valid vote, almost three times its national average, and finished second behind Morena, which took 42.7%. The parties of Fuerza y Corazón por México lagged far behind: the PRI with 10.2%, the PAN with 4.7% and the PRD with 0.8%, the lowest share the PRD recorded anywhere before losing its registration. The PT got 4.6% and the PVEM 4.3%.

That two-way contest showed up in both districts, which Sigamos Haciendo Historia won with Movimiento Ciudadano in second place. The gap was very different in each: 6.9 points in district 1, seated in the city of Campeche and classified as Indigenous by the INE, and 31.1 points in district 2, based in Carmen. With 64.2% turnout, almost four points above the national average, Campeche ranked eighth among the states.

In 2027 voters in Campeche choose a governor, the 35 members of the state congress and 13 municipal councils. It also fills an office of its own: the municipal boards (juntas municipales), with 23 presidents plus their trustees and councilors. There is no vote from abroad for governor. With 707,693 people on the electoral roll in October 2026, it is the third smallest state by number of voters.
