Aguascalientes, from 2024 to 2027

In the 2024 federal deputy election, Aguascalientes gave the PAN its highest share anywhere in the country: 42.6% of the valid vote, against 31.7% for Morena. No other party reached double digits: Movimiento Ciudadano stopped at 8.3% and the PRI at 7.9%, while the PVEM's 3.9% was its weakest result among the 32 states. The PT drew 2.9%, and the PRD, which fell short of the national threshold and lost its national registration, 2.7%. Turnout was 59.8% of the electoral roll, just under the national 60.5%.

The three districts mirror that lead. Fuerza y Corazón por México, which joined the PAN with the PRI and the PRD, carried district 1, seated in Jesús María, and district 2, in the capital. In district 3, also based in the city of Aguascalientes, the three parties did not run together: the PAN fielded its own candidate and won. In all three, the runner-up was Sigamos Haciendo Historia, Morena's joint ticket with the PT and the Greens. Added together, the parties of the first alliance took 53.1% of the valid vote; those of the second, 38.5%.

In 2027 the state elects more than federal deputies. It also chooses a governor, all 27 seats in the state legislature and the 11 municipal councils, and residents abroad can vote for governor. In October 2026 the electoral roll listed 1,154,314 people. The PRD will no longer be on the federal ballot, while SOMOS and PAZ, registered after 2024, arrive with no local track record to compare against.
